Complete Export Guide for Indian Manufacturers — HS Codes · Market Share · FAQ · Co-located Shows
In 2026, bilateral trade between India and Jordan has reached historic levels, with the construction and building materials sector emerging as its fastest-growing pillar. As Jordan undergoes a massive urban renewal phase across Amman, Aqaba and the Dead Sea resort corridor, Indian manufacturers of tiles, sanitary ware, MDF panels, construction chemicals, SPC flooring, carpets, smart lighting and CCTV systems are uniquely positioned to capture a $60M+ annual export opportunity.
Jordan's reputation as the "Safe Warehouse of the Levant" — the primary sourcing and re-distribution hub for Iraq, Palestine, Syria and the wider Arab world — means that every Indian building material brand that establishes a Jordanian distribution partnership is simultaneously entering six markets. Iraqi contractors and Palestinian housing developers regularly source from Jordanian importers in Amman, making Interbuild Jordan the single most leveraged trade platform for Indian exporters in the region.
The bilateral India–Jordan merchandise trade reached $954M in 2024. Building materials represent a rapidly growing share of this — with ceramic tiles at $14.2M, sanitary ware at $9.4M, and construction chemicals already holding a 30% Jordan market share.

Answers to the most important questions from Indian manufacturers considering Jordan as their next export market
Jordan follows JQM (Jordan Quality Mark) standards. Indian products with ISO, CE or BIS certification are widely accepted. Ceramic tiles should comply with ISO 13006. Construction chemicals require EN 12004 or ASTM certification. Sanitary ware should carry WRAS and EN 997 for hotel specifications. Steel structures may require RSS (Royal Scientific Society) lab testing.
Ceramic tiles (HS 6907/6908): 0–5%. Sanitary ware (HS 6910): 5%. Wood panels (HS 4411): 5–10%. Construction chemicals (HS 38): 0–5%. Hardware and ironmongery (HS 83): 5%. Smart lighting (HS 9405): 5–10%. There is no India–Jordan FTA, but Aqaba SEZ allows duty-free storage and re-export to Iraq and the Levant.
Aqaba Special Economic Zone (ASEZA) allows duty-free storage of goods in bonded warehouses for re-export to Iraq, Palestine, Syria and other Levant countries. Indian tile and building material exporters can ship container loads to Aqaba, store them duty-free and supply Jordanian and Iraqi project requirements progressively — eliminating the need for large in-country inventories.
Morbi (ceramic and vitrified tiles), Rajkot (brassware and sanitary ware), Kandla and Gandhidham (wood panels and chemicals logistics), Chennai and Mumbai (construction chemicals — Pidilite, Dr. Fixit), Bhadohi and Mirzapur (carpets and rugs), Noida and Pune (smart lighting and CCTV), Jaipur and Udaipur (marble and granite). All these clusters have established export infrastructure for the Middle East.
Yes — and it is one of the fastest growing segments. Jordan's green building mandate and SEZ security compliance requirements are driving 18% annual growth in smart LED lighting, DALI control systems and IP surveillance imports. Indian manufacturers certified to CE, IEC 60598 (lighting) and ONVIF/NDAA (cameras) are well positioned to supply Jordan's hotel, commercial and industrial security sectors.
IEPCINDIA's Official Indian Pavilion provides: subsidised exhibition space, country branding with Ministry of Commerce recognition, pre-arranged B2B meetings with Jordanian importers and architects, Arabic translation support, visa and hotel coordination, group freight handling, and post-show buyer follow-up.
